Guys is your first time you see this story I'll tell you, you have the read FIRST the manga and then see the anime. Even I see the anime when I was 10 years-old and re-saw but I finished the saw the manga first and I support the manga. Perhaps I'm a "pink" girl with this happily ever after. I hate the ending of the anime -y'know is and end completely different. I like much the manga 'cause CLAMP don't have any preference with one girl all they are the stars but the anime the star is Hikaru everything is focus on her is a little bored. Umi is my fav magic Knight with her crush with Ascot.and Fuu personally in the anime she's bored but in the manga aw i like it, with her relationship with Ferio. Geez! Hikaru *sighs* no offenses- was so dumped, when Lantis say "married me" and she say even if I write ahg pissed me off.Apart of this I like so much the manga. Well, what can I sad? I luv so much how was the end, the crush and the relationship. I also liked the emotional stuff with Emeraulde(?) and Zagato. Yes, for personal reasons, but if I didn’t know the story before, I would give a lower rating.

I really liked Umi, Hikaru was this happy go lucky character and the other characters were quite original, but their characters were too forced I guess. Tastes change so much in just 10 years, jeez. Umi was the one who was smart, and she was mine favourite too. She was supposed to be the smart of the three, but she always stated just the obvious. I can't believe I actually liked Fuu when I was a kid (okay, I was like 13, but that time, such age still meant you are a kid). Also, the story was more dramatic and when they gave the chibis in there, it didn’t really fit. They weren’t made so good, so it killed the mood. But at least it wasn’t as bad as the anime. The second part of the story was worse than the first one I think. At the end, Mokona, the animal sidekick is relieved to be god. That was the end of the main story and then they returned to help the country. Many, many thanks to Okazu Superhero Amanda M.They had to kill the princess, for she is ruining the country cause she fell with love.
#Magic knight rayearth manga vs anime series#
Overall – I’m less enthusiastic about this series than CCS, but more than I expected. So, its okay then, phew.Īrt – Less wonderful than Card Captor Sakura, but still very CLAMP-ianĬharacters – Less annoying than most, until Mokona’s true identity is revealed

This would all be very uncomfortable if the worthies of Cefiro were not already ready to see the back end of the Pillar system. Having destroyed the Pillar system, the Magic Knights replace it with a completely alien system. Which is odd, when you consider that the end is a modified form of colonialism. Growing Ascot up into a tall, handsome young man for Umi was a nice touch and even Ferio gets a power up. Moreover, their dynamic is subtle enough that a child could read this without any concern. Eagle and Lantis are presented very much as a couple, but when Hikaru comes en scene, she could reasonably be paired with either of them – or both – in a way that makes sense. The story is mostly taken up with relationship building, rather than fighting, and the conclusion, while predictable, was far more satisfactory than the scattered, messy ending of the anime.Ī great deal of the story follows our enemies and, instead of giving us reason to hate them, we learn to like them. This is complicated by the fact that their enemies all turn out to be decent people who are just trying to help their own worlds – and the knowledge that the Pillar system of Cefiro is innately, dangerously flawed. Joined by old allies, the Magic Knights have to find a way to protect Cefiro. The Magic Knights return to find what’s left of Cefiro under attack from three nearby planets – Autozam, Fahren and Cezita. Clef and the others are gathered in a castle floating above the planet surface. It turns out that now that Emeraude is gone, Cefiro is collapsing. And one day, when they meet up at Tokyo Tower, they find themselves transported back, but not to any place they recognize as Cefiro! Fuu particularly, has reason to go, as Ferio is there. Umi, Fuu and Hikaru, having returned to Earth after fighting Zagato, are…unhappy. What’s left, then, is a far more straightforward, much less morality-play like story. In fact, the lack of Nova and her annoying mother went a considerable distance to cleaning up the exceedingly messy plot. Unlike the second season of the anime, Volume 2 of the Magic Knight Rayearth manga does not have a Yuri subplot.
